I'm New...
I am new and I have questions.
This is a place to find answers to frequently asked questions.
Spencer Christian Church is a place where people can meet Jesus, engage in life-giving community, and everyone is welcome. We believe in creating a space where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts and use them for God's glory. Join us for our weekend services!
Is there a dress code?
Once I arrive, where should I go first or when I have questions?
What about my kids?
At Spencer Christian Church, you’ll see as much variety in dress as you see in people. Some wear T-shirts and jeans . Others wear the more traditional Sunday attire. We don’t judge by appearances because we know that God is interested in what’s on the inside.
During our weekend services, you will be welcomed at the door by our friendly greeters. They can direct you to our welcoming Guest Relations Team right inside the doors who will be able to answer questions and help you and your kids know where to go.
Loving and safe kids’ programming is provided at all service times here at Spencer Christian Church. SCC KIDS is the ideal spot for infants through 5th graders. Kids’ classes are high energy, interactive, and age-appropriate. You can also utilize the cry room (room 110) for your children. We also have a nursing mothers room. If you need help finding it, just ask someone at the Guest Relations area.
What about my student?
What are the times and lengths of worship gathering?
What about music?
On Sunday morning at 11am, 6th through 12th grade students enjoy classes, activities and special events that are designed to draw them into positive relationships and keep them coming back. The discussions and teaching – led by caring and positive adult role models – help students deal with the many pressures they face and guide them toward healthy choices. Check out the Student ministry page to learn ages for each service.
About 70 minutes. Service times are Sunday 9:30 or 11am. You might want to arrive a few minutes early to get a good seat and a cup of coffee. You will have a chance to sing or listen to some music, hear some relevant teaching, and connect with God. If you would like to get a feel for our service before you visit, check out past services by clicking on the "watch" menu button.
The purpose of our worship team is “to lead Spencer Christian Church in glorifying God in spirit and truth”. Most Sunday morning services (9:30 or 11am) feature a full contemporary style worship team.
What kind of church is this?
How do I become a member?
What is Baptism?
We are a church that is all about relationship, not just religion. Longer answer? Spencer Christian Church is a non-denominational church in the historical tradition of the Restoration Movement. We have a local group of elders who provide direction and oversight for the church. We have no hierarchy or any other religious body that influences what happens at Spencer Christian Church. Go to the menu and find "What we believe" to learn more.
The “Connect Step Class” is the next logical step for you to take to learn more about membership and your path to joining the mission of Spencer Christian Church. We hold this class quarterly. Find out when the next class is scheduled or you can set up a meeting by emailing info@spencerchristian.org.
When we hear the Gospel Of Jesus, we must respond. Some respond with antagonism, others with apathy. The first step of Biblical response to the Gospel is to be obedient in immersion baptism. Contact a minister or the church office to learn more or to make arrangements for a public or private baptism.
What happens during communion time during worship gatherings?
What happens during offering at worship gatherings?
What is the location of Spencer Christian Church building?
Communion is the memorial Jesus gave to remind us of the price He paid – His life – for our sins. Anyone who is a follower of Christ is invited to participate. Normally, there will be a communion meditation given while you open the pre-packaged emblems that you pick up as you enter the Worship Area. The emblems are the bread representing Christ’s broken body and the fruit of the vine – we use grape juice – representing Christ’s spilled blood on the Cross. We are instructed to partake in a worthy manner so it is also a time for remembering and giving thanks for Christ's sacrifice. (1 Corinthians 11:26-29) Additionally, it is a beautiful moment when Christ’s Church has the opportunity to commune with Him and each other.
Guests should not feel obligated to give.
As Christ followers, we give an offering out of love to support God’s work through His Church. There are offering boxes located throughout the worship center. There will be an offering basket as you enter the worship service and you can simply place your offering in the basket upon entry. Or you can drop off at our welcome center. However, most folks simply give online.

Where do I park?
We have two lots, an upper and lower level with multiple handicapped accessible parking spaces. We also have a covered entrance to the main lobby for rainy days.
Will there be coffee?
We have a great ministry team dedicated to help you stay caffeinated during Sunday morning services. In addition to fresh, hot coffee and other beverages, they serve pastries and other breakfast items between services. There is no cost to you for those enjoying these goodies. This ministry desires to foster a time of community and fellowship after our worship service. We do ask if you take a beverage into the Worship Area, please bring a tumbler with a lid.
